Celebrations of Our Lady of the Assumption

On the occasion of Ferragosto (August bank holiday) in Golfo Aranci, celebrations will be held in honour of Maria SS. Assunta. A religious event that includes at 5.30 pm the gathering of the faithful participants in the Piazzetta del Porto. This will be followed by the traditional procession at sea on the motorboat Cecilia, starting from the Le Casette quay. On the way back, the procession will start, animated by the M. Columbano musical band of Calangianus, along the following urban route: via dei Marinai, via Libertà, arriving at the 'San Giuseppe' parish church. The procession will see the presence of folk groups from Orune, Torpè, Oniferi, and Nuoro. At the Amphitheatre, at 19:00, the Eucharist will be celebrated, animated by the N.S. del Mare parish choir, in the presence of the civil and military authorities. At the end of the Mass, the groups will perform in the church square.
